In Our World

Christ Presbyterian reaches out to the larger community around the world.

Mission Trips

For over thirty years Christ Presbyterian Church has had a relationship with the  Porcupine Presbyterian Church on the Pine Ridge Reservation, the home to the Lakota Tribe of Native Americans in South Dakota.  For the last eleven years Christ Presbyterian Church has sent a mission team to Porcupine, South Dakota to help with various construction needs.  We have worked with Vacation Bible School. Most importantly our teams have been able to form relationships, friendships and share Christ's love to others.

Missionaries

Christ Presbyterian Church supports missionaries in Chiang Mai, Thailand.  Rev Bill Yoder, son of our congregation, served over 42 years as mission co-worker in Thailand.  He was dean of Payap University in Chiang Mai for seven years.  Bill retired in December 2007, but he continues to volunteer and serves as a regional liaison for Thailand and parts of Southeast Asia.

Esther Wakeman is a native of North Canton and a graduate Malone College.  Esther, who earned  her M.Div. and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology, is interim director of Christian Communications Institue.  The CCI uses traitional and modern dramatic and musical arts to present the gospel in schools and villages all over Thailand.
