Concert Series
Each year we offer six or seven concerts so that the community that gathers here becomes much broader than any official “membership list.” In fact, while the concert series is managed by the church staff and housed in this inspiring sacred space at the corner of McKinley Avenue and Tuscarawas Street, the actual funding for artists and promotional expenses comes from the generosity of patrons beyond, as well as within, the CPC congregation.
Some of the concerts require purchase of a ticket at the door or through the church office, some are free but supported by an optional offering, and other events on the series are more in the context of a worship setting (such as Choral Evensong). The annual Concert Series Patrons drive usually begins mid-August when the coming season is announced, but new names are added to the patrons list as donations are made at any time throughout the year.
Our annual series will usually present organists of international repute and national acclaim, as well as a variety of vocal and instrumental ensembles and soloists from Stark County, from the Northeastern Ohio region, and from all over the USA and beyond. The 700 tickets for events such as the Chanticleer concert in February, 2010, typically sell out quickly.
Please check the schedule for details. Concerts are wheelchair accessible; well-lighted and ample parking is available in large lots on the West and South sides of the buildings, as well as on Tuscarawas Street and Second St. SW.
