Children's Ministry

Overview

The Children's Ministry of Christ Church serves the very youngest of our congregation up into middle school. Here you will find information on our Sunday morning programs as well as activities and opportunities we have available for children throughout the week and year.

For more information on our Children's Ministry, please contact Jennifer George at jgeorge@cantoncpc.org or through the church office at 330-456-8113.

Nursery

Our Nursery is located in the lower level and is caringly staffed by volunteers from 9:00 a.m. through the 10:30 service.  Pagers are available so the parents can be contacted anywhere in the building if needed.

9:15 Sunday School

Classes are held in our lower level for children age three through 7th grade and run September through June.  Our classes focus on providing age appropriate ways for children to learn about Jesus in a fun and faith filled atmosphere.  For parents, we provide information and materials to help you share the message at home.

10:30 Kids’ Church

Children age three through 7th grade are invited to join us for Kids' Church in following the Children's Message in the 10:30 service.

Children in the 3yr-5yr class will hear stories, play games, and sing songs that help teach and remind them of God's love.

Children in Kindergarten through 7th grade have a time of worship in the Chapel.  There is time for sharing, a weekly message and for prayer.  Following the worship time, Children age kindergarten through 4th grade they head to the lower level where we have fun activities such as crafts, bible trivia games, and singing songs. Children age 5th-7th grade head upstairs to our youth room for time with our youth director.

On communion Sundays, children in kindergarten and older remain in worship so that they may hear the sermon and participate in communion if they wish.  On these Sundays, a special Family Worship Bulletin is available with activities relating to the scripture for the children to do and a guide to help your family talk about what you heard in service together.

Family Fellowship

Families today are on the go and Christ Church knows the importance of finding time and activities to share together.  We offer many activities throughout the year that your entire family will enjoy and look forward to.  From our annual Easter Egg Hunt, to movie nights, to after church pitch-in lunches, your family can create memories together.

Children’s Library

Located in the lower level, our Children’s Library is a special place of enjoyment and discovery though books, music, movies, and more!  We also have special resources for parents to use that offer guidance with difficult topics, and open up conversation with their children.
